August 26, 2010: artmuse.com, Austin TX — Artmuse.com announces a special fundraiser limited edition giclée print addition to Jonathan Windham’s scratchboard art series Eyes. Windham’s special Eyes edition, Hawksbill Sea Turtle, represents all endangered Sea Turtles, and especially for those suffering from the horrendous habitat and environmental damages due to the recent oil spill tragedy in the Gulf of Mexico. Artmuse.com and Windham partnered with NOAH Nature Alliance and Sea Turtle Conservancy (STC) to raise funds specifically for Sea Turtles affected by the recent oil spill in the Gulf. 100% of Windham’s proceeds from each sale of Hawksbill Sea Turtle on www.artmuse.com will go directly to STC to aid in conservation efforts of Sea Turtles. With approximately 475 known turtles in need, this is part of a collaborative effort that allows art lovers and collectors to join forces with the greater community for a worthy cause.
Artmuse.com and Windham have an immediate goal to reach $700 in 7 days, starting August 26, 2010. Starting at only $25 for beautiful, archival prints, either loose or framed prints, this important goal to help alleviate an urgent situation could easily be achieved with the help of the larger art and collector community.
Artmuse.com was founded in 2009 by curator Bonnie Glendinning with a mission to offer an affordable art to collect the Art of contemporary Artists through limited and open edition prints. A curated online gallery, Artmuse.com, is dedicated to discovering unique and compelling artists who are committed to their craft of artistic, philosophic, and intellectual discovery.
NOAH Nature Alliance, a non-profit dedicated to supporting nature conservation efforts, both large and small, seeks to provide non-elitist, non-political, non-proprietary, non-exclusive information to unite, inspire, and connect dedicated conservationists with a passionate and supportive, global, donor community.
Through NOAH, Glendinning and Windham found NOAH partner, STC. STC is the oldest and most accomplished sea turtle organization in the world. The nonprofit organization, based out of Florida, has gained popularity and prestige by not only preserving the habitats of Sea Turtles, but educating and training the public and their staff with the most up-to-date content and technologies.
Jonathan Windham, a Texas-based artist with ties to the Gulf, is dedicated to animal rights. Firmly believing that all art is useful, Windham is thrilled to explore another way in which art can really make a direct difference to the preservation of endangered species.
